The point of compression systems is to keep your headset adjusted. The best headsets are threadless, but the problem has always been how to keep the headset from coming loose all the time. By "Locking" the threads of our system, the headset can't come loose.
Threads on the inside of cap engage with the threads of fork. When you tighten the clamp on the bars, the threads "Lock" together.
Then screw on the compression cap.
